Fire Down Below's New Album Low Desert Surf Club Drops Friday

Formed in Ghent (Belgium) in 2015, Fire Down Below first stepped into the spotlight with their self-released debut album Viper Vixen Goddess Saint in 2016. The album quickly garnered international praise and caught our attention. We re-released VVGS worldwide and released its sophomore album Hymn of the Cosmic Man in 2018. The second album again received excellent feedback and Fire Down Below played over 30 shows throughout Europe in the next year. Album three, Low Desert Surf Club, was recorded in late 2022. The band sought and found a producer in Nick DiSalvo, famed frontman of the bands Elder and Delving. Richard Behrens (Samsara Blues Experiment, Big Snuff Studio Berlin) was added to the team to record and mix the nine tracks on the album. Low Desert Surf Club will be released on 8 September 2023. Ripple Music announces a December release for their Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute album "Burn on the Bayou", featuring 32 bands of the Californian heavy label's roster. Listen to the first single with a rocking rendition of "Fortunate Son" by US stoner metallers Bone Church now! Set for a December 3rd release, "Burn on the Bayou: A Heavy Underground Tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival" will be released in 3xLP format for a total of 29 songs and 3 bonus tracks. Burn on the Bayou: a Heavy Underground Tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival

Tribute Albums can be a minefield, depending on whom the chosen artist is that is being given the (sometimes dubious) honour of having their songs covered. Black Sabbath have countless tributes and have had every possible band from the Giants (Metallica) to the bizarre (Busta Rhymes) cover them with extremely mixed results. For every White Zombie and 1000 Homo D.J.s sublime covers of Children of the Grave and Supernaught theflip side is the absolute travesty of Emerald Sabbath (I kid you not) consisting of anyone with the most tenuous connection to Sabbath (Dave Walker, Neil Murray, Bev Bevan) murdering their songs. The first hurdle of any tribute album is avoiding the obvious (Sabbath, Lizzy, Purple etc) picking an artist well known but not covered to point of saturation.
