Influential Acts Join Stacked Lineup of International Heavy
Metal Bands at Second Annual Houston
Underground Music Festival
On Saturday, April 13, a worldwide contingent of music fans
will convene at Houston, Texas'
White Oak Music Hall
as Pegstar Concerts presents the second annual Hell's Heroes Festival. The
all-day music fest will showcase a hand-picked selection of international
underground metal bands that includes both seminal, genre-pioneers (including
Exciter, Razor, Omen) and highly regarded modern day groups (including Power
Trip, Haunt, Visigoth) and more, in a can't-miss concert event. Tickets are on
sale now at this location.
As a special treat to fans arriving in Houston early, Hell's Heroes has announced a
very special pre-fest concert on Friday, April 12 headlined by doom titans YOB
and avant-garde metal kings Voivod. The Hell's Heroes pre-fest will take place
at Warehouse Live (813 St. Emanuel Street) and will also include live sets from
Neurosis-approved post metallers Amenra, Texas post black metal unit Sleeping
Ancient and trad metal up-and-comers Scrollkeeper. Tickets for the Hell's
Heroes pre-fest are on sale now at this location.
But the pre-fest is just a precursor to what the Hell's
Heroes Fest holds in store. On Saturday, April 13 attendees will lay witness to
a one-of-a-kind assemblage of must-see underground royalty featuring headliners
Exciter (the Canadian speed metal trailblazers performing the band's first
Texas live appearance in more than 30 years), Razor -- long referred to as one
of Canada's "big four", alongside Sacrifice, Voivod and Annihilator
-- and Dallas new thrash gods Power Trip, unquestionably one of modern day
heavy music's leading lights with its inseparable mix of hardcore punk, speed,
and death metal.
"Power Trip is incredibly stoked to be a part of the
Hell's Heroes II fest line up," says Power Trip vocalist Riley Gale.
"Getting to share a bill with bands like Razor, Helstar, and Exciter is a
huge honor for us. We don’t get invited to many of the “trve” or more “old
school” metal fests, so to have the Hell's Heroes organizers invite us means a
lot because it shows that they understand Power Trip is about the old guard
just as much as the new."
As if that wasn't enough, Hell's Heroes will also feature live
sets from California classic metal heavy hitters Haunt, respected Los Angeles
metal band Omen, Houston power metal prime movers Helstar, Bay Area NWOBHM band
Hellfire, Toronto trad metal revivalists Skull Fist and Cauldron, Salt Lake
City's new wave of American traditional metal mavens Visigoth, Richmond, VA
metal band BAT (featuring members of Municipal Waste and DRI), cult Austin epic
metallers Graven Rite (featuring members of Eternal Champion and Iron Age), Los
Angeles trad-metal quintet Blade Killer and Houston death / thrash unit Oath of
Cruelty. Tickets for the Hell's Heroes Fest are $27.50 and are on sale now at this location.
