"Echoing the eerie reverberations of hard rock heavyweights such as Black
Sabbath and Pentagram, mixed with the Classic Rock style of Led
Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, Brimstone Coven has created a Vintage sound and
style all their own."
So this West Virginia stoner rock band released this album the other day. Since I follow them on Bandcamp, they were part of the many emails I get from the site since I follow pretty much anything. I'm thinking that it would be just your standard "We are doom metal, worship Black Sabbath, hail Satan, horns up" type band. Typical generic stuff right? Holly hell no.While the influences are quite obvious, they even tell you in their bio, they are much more. The music has a distinct occult feel to it. It's the tuning obviously. It's harmonious in an almost Witchcraft way, deep and dark. The overall tone of the album is chilling. I literally have goosebumps listening to this album. This album makes me want to open up a haunted house and use this album as the soundtrack.
The album is currently out now on CD and digital download and will be available very soon on vinyl through the great STB Records. Word has it there will be a few different color variations as well as cover variations for you die hard collectors. Oh, the album cover was done by the great Ralph Walters.
