2026 Mighty Music
Made in Hell starts off strong with the title track. The swirling lead guitar of founding member Michael Stützer, then new vocalist Martin Steene (Iron Fire) lets loose. This is how you start an EP!!
“Ghost in the Machine” - is straightforward thrash with a chorus built for a crowd to scream along to at summer festivals. Oh and did I mention the machine-drum fire of Frederik Kjelstrup Hansen?
The pace does not let up. “Into the Universe” is next. It's like a freight train being smacked by a high speed bomber. This renews my faith in metal and humanity.
It's interesting how Martin’s voice has so much range - he’s not growling or screaming all the time - the man can actually sing - which is actually rare in thrash.
Peter Thorslund on bass is keeping down the low end holding it all together with rhythm guitarist René Loua - keeping the bullet train from exploding off the track.
And just when you think you’re going to need your nitroglycerin and a nap, the EP closes with a live version of “The Almighty” - a track from the band’s 1985 classic Fear of Tomorrow - recorded live with the current line-up.
All in all a very solid - classic thrash entry . I’m really looking forward to seeing these guys in Brooklyn in September.
Thank you to Fernando Reis at Mighty Music for all your help!!
