ELECTRIC HYDRA RETURN WITH FROM THE FALLEN — HEAVIER, LOUDER, UNBREAKABLE

If you cut off one of the eight heads of the mythological hydra, two more will grow back. Swedish heavy rock quintet Electric Hydra know this legend well and they live by it.

After several years of relative silence, the band rise once more with renewed force and a new full-length album, From the Fallen. Spanning 11 tracks, the record stands as a declaration of resilience and evolution, capturing a band reborn through adversity and personal struggle, emerging heavier, sharper, and more focused than at any point in their history.

Electric Hydra have long been known as a ferocious live act, delivering high-voltage heavy rock fueled by chunky guitar riffs, explosive energy, catchy vocal hooks, and a deep love of retro hard rock spirit. Over the years, they’ve torn up both intimate clubs and major festival stages across Europe, including Sweden Rock Festival, Fuzzfestival, Malmöfestivalen, and SWR Barroselas Metalfest in Portugal.

Their self-titled debut album Electric Hydra landed in 2020 via Majestic Mountain Records / Tee Pee Records, earning strong praise from fans and critics alike. A standalone single, “Eyes of Time,” followed, and while the band suffered some lineup changes and the long shadow of the pandemic, the fire never went out.

With the addition of guitarists Emil Andersson and Adi Selimic, Electric Hydra return reinvigorated as a powerful five-piece lineup: Sanne Karlsson (vocals), Ellinor Andersson (bass), Emil Andersson (guitar/vocals), Adi Selimic (guitar), and Dennis Åhman (drums).

From the Fallen broadens the band’s sonic reach while staying true to its roots. Fast, punk-fueled aggression collides with heavier, slower passages and broader atmospheric moments, giving the album both momentum and depth.

“FINALLY — we are back! I think the new album is a dynamic one with a lot of different musical flavors. It’s heavy and raw with a lot of energy. We’ve kept the core of our music, but we’ve also evolved.” Says Sanne Karlsson.

The album also features notable guest contributions from Per Wiberg (Spiritual Beggars, Opeth), Mateo von Bewitcher (Bewitcher), and Bo Karlsson, father of vocalist Sanne Karlsson, enriching the record with depth, character, and a tangible connection to its roots.

Crucially, drummer Dennis Åhman recorded, mixed, and mastered the entire album himself, shaping its sound from the inside out and giving From the Fallen an unmistakably unified and organic feel.

“After everything we’ve been through, the pandemic, lineup changes, we’re finally here. Dennis handled the recording, mixing, and mastering, and did an incredible job. We’re extremely proud of what we’ve created.” Adds Ellinor Andersson.

From the Fallen signals Electric Hydra’s full return, renewed and re-energized. The album stands as proof that adversity doesn’t weaken this band; it multiplies them. Louder, heavier, and more determined than ever, Electric Hydra are once again ready to strike.
