A Fistful Of Questions (Post) Halloween Edition With Josh From Forgotten Shrine

I am a certified Halloween enthusiast!  I love everything about Halloween.  So, I decided to scare up some Halloween themed questions and shoot them out to some bands.  This batch went out to Josh from Forgotten Shrine!

Are you superstitious?

After watching a well made horror or thriller movie it should leave you checking what's behind the bushes, but generally I'm not superstitious about whether somewhere is haunted. People are scarier than ghosts anyway.

Why do you love Halloween?

The opportunity to truly dress for the job you want and not the job you have (eldritch abomination).

Do you scare easily?

Actually no, especially with modern horror movies. The buildup to jump scares has gotten so over the top that it ruins the suspense.

What’s your favorite Halloween movie?

Tim Burton's version of "Sleepy Hollow" from 1999 strikes the perfect balance of spooky fairytale and Halloween camp, not to mention the setting and imagery reminds me so much of home being close to Upstate NY myself.

What’s your favorite Halloween song?

This may or may not be a cliche answer, but "Come Little Children" from Hocus Pocus. Alternatively "Stabbing in the Dark" by the horror metal band Ice Nine Kills.

What’s your favorite Halloween candy?

Snickers will always be unmatched.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve received while trick-or-treating?

Probably a gospel tract in the shape of a $100 bill. At least they handed out candy too.

Favorite horror monster or villain?

Tim Curry's version of Pennywise is one of the scariest and simultaneously fun to watch villains in cinema. His face before pulling Georgie into the sewer burns itself in your mind, and his jokes are all legitimately funny.

What was your favorite Halloween costume as a child?

Probably Darth Maul from Star Wars, the blend between demon and evil space wizard was very appealing to me as a kid.

Do you prefer gore or thrillers?

Definitely thrillers, gore just for the sake of gore never hits the same as if there's a legitimate mystery to solve.

Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees (if you had to choose)?

Michael Myers, the second you hear the Halloween theme music you know it's over.

Many thanks to Jason for taking the time to answer these questions.  I appreciate you doing so.  As for the rest of you, please click on the link so generously provided below and treat yourselves to some folk metal!  You’ll be glad that you did.
