A few years ago we had a realization. Ripple was not encompassing everything we wanted it too. We love the stoner and doom scene, but pretty much everyone at the label likes a lot of other stuff too. By virtue of being so in depth in the biz we were constantly finding awesome psych rock, post punk and alt rock releases that spoke to us and that we wanted to put out.
The thing was – Ripple is so allied with the heavy scene we didn’t think it would make sense to really leave those roots. The natural conclusion then was to just start a subsidiary!
With this idea Rebel Waves was born. The label has been ticking along at a good pace for a while now, with releases from artists like Thadeus Gonzalez, Sacred Shrines and most recently Snake Mountain Revival. Our band Las Robertas even got to play Coachella!
