The Allman Betts Band discuss new album, family history and musical chemistry on new podcast, 'Past, Present, Future, Live!'

"We are in love with being a band. We're in love with being in a band together. This is something that's not drawn up in a boardroom. This is something that really has an immense amount of feel. And every note on that record is true. Every note on that record I stand behind."

Osiris Podcasts release their seventh episode of a new, multidimensional podcast series -- Past, Present, Future, Live! -- featuring Devon Allman and Duane Betts of The Allman Betts Band. In this episode, interviewer RJ Bee speaks with Allman and Betts about their new record Bless Your Heart (out August 28), their distinctive musical chemistry and their family histories.

After meeting as teenagers on The Allman Brothers Band 20th Anniversary tour, Devon and Duane went on to separately play in a range of bands spanning blues, roots, metal, and folk for almost 20 years. They reunited in 2017 and toured on a shared bill, which quickly evolved into writing songs together and the birth of a new group, The Allman Betts Band. Their sound, both live and on record, tips their proverbial hat to the past, and then dives headfirst into a unique and powerful exploration of roots-rock music.

After the interview, Duane plays “Shinin'” from their debut album Down To The River, and Devon performs “Norwegian Wood” by The Beatles. Devon and Duane both share a performance of “Magnolia Road” from their forthcoming album Bless Your Heart (August 28). These videos and all other Past, Present, Future, Live! performances can be found on the Osiris Media YouTube Channel. Music from all the artists mentioned in this interview can be streamed on the Past, Present, Future, Live! Spotify playlist.

Upcoming episodes of Past, Present, Future, Live! include conversations with Ben Nichols and more. The podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever podcasts can be steamed.

From their first music lesson to the first paid gig, these are stories from the unique journey that is the life of an artist. Past, Present, Future, Live! discusses early inspirations, creative processes, what’s driving artists towards the future and everything in between. Full audio episodes drop every Tuesday, and videos of each live performance are available on the Osiris website and YouTube channel. An accompanying curated playlist chronicling the music and artists mentioned in each episode is also available on the Osiris site and on Spotify.
