Italian doom jazz specialists MESSA unveil a gripping live
video for the songs "She Knows/Tulsi" from their Roadburn Festival
2019 performance. Their latest album 'Feast For Water' is still available on
Aural Music.
Says the band: "Last year we played Roadburn festival.
It was the first time for us and, of course, we were all beyond excited to
participate in what we believe to be one of the best settings for so many kinds
of independent music ever. The whole experience turned out to be one of the
most intriguing and intense moments in our musical and personal lives so far.
The amount of love from the audience and the commitment of the staff itself
were so overwhelmingly strong that we felt part of a bigger unity, really. Now we
have the pleasure to share a song from that set."

MESSA play evoking doom metal with a dark jazz twist.
Deliciously haunting female vocals, Rhodes
piano and 70’s fuzz guitars combine to conjure a sound that is all of their
own. With influences as diverse as Windhand, Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore, The
Devil’s Blood, Jex Thoth, Angelo Badalamenti, Bellwitch, Urfaust, John Coltrane
and Aluk Todolo, the band has moved from the droning occult doom of their first
LP "Belfry" to a new, darker and more atmospheric approach clearly
showcased in their new record "Feast for Water" (Aural Music, 2018),
a concept album centered on the introspective, symbolic and ritual features of
the liquid element.
Sophisticated, dark and soulful to the core, "Feast For
Water" is a multi-faceted doom record from a band who is not afraid of
putting sonic experimentation to serve their spiritual and transcendantal
intentions, using jazz, classic rock and drone/doom metal all in one to create
beautiful, unique soundscapes. It" garnered a lot of praise from all
across the globe, leading them to play Roadburn, Hellfest, Desertfest among
others.
