Leesta Vall Direct-To-Vinyl Office Sessions are live musical
performances that take place in our office in Brooklyn.
Each unique performance is cut live in realtime directly to a 7” lathe cut
vinyl record, resulting in a truly one-of-a-kind musical artifact. Each
individual vinyl record contains it’s own version of a song that only it’s
purchaser will have/hear….a very special thing.
Our record cutting lathe is a 1950’s era “suitcase” cutter
that has been modified to cut mono grooves into specialized plastics. The
cutter has been dropped into a rack containing other vintage/analog outboard recording
equipment. No computers are necessary for these Direct-To-Vinyl cutting sessions.
For these sessions, no preservation of the recordings take
place beyond cutting grooves into a record while the artist performs. The
result is a lathe cut record containing a unique performance that exists
nowhere else in the world. No duplication and no digital versions mean these
records are each 100% one-of-a-kind.
