The debut album 'Valley of Thorns' has been released alongside a string of headline tour dates, with vinyl 12 inch to follow their 22 date U.K. Album Launch Party Tour.

Rock category Finalist of the UK Songwriting Contest 2017 and Semi-Finalist of the International Songwriting Competition, The Kut, is the alter-ego of multi-instrumentalist and PhD Graduate, Princess Maha. Active on the UK and European alt.rock scene, festival performances in the last year have included Download Festival, Camden Rocks Festival, Rebellion Festival, Hard Rock Hell, Amplified Festival, Nice N Sleazy and Strummercamp among others. Meanwhile, tours have spanned the UK, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

2017 was a significant year for The Kut. They featured as one of Kerrang! Magazines Top 10 Record Store Day Releases, alongside Baby Metal and Gerard Way. The summer saw The Kut playing over 50 UK mainland dates, and the year ended with the band claiming the Number 1 Spot in the Beyond 50 Promotions Top 50 Under the Radar UK Bands.

2018 has seen a worldwide record deal announced with Cargo Records for the long-awaited debut album, 'Valley of Thorns'. Produced by James LeRock Loughrey (Skindred / Def Leppard / White Zombie / My Vitriol) the debut sees some of the live favourites heard on The Kut tours, and is released on Friday 4th May (May 18th North America). Reactions have been incredible across the board. The latest single 'Mind Games' has been premiered on Kerrang! Radio by Johnny Doom, played out by Sean McGinty at BBC Introducing, Total Rock, Hard Rock Hell Radio and picked up airplay as far as the USA and Australia, with over 90 stations adding the release! This includes airplay in 12 US States and on a number of Triple A, Specialist and College Stations - including adds to USA's NACC Rock Chart. Meanwhile the accompanying music video was on rotation on Scuzz TV and was premiered online by Clash Magazine. The Kut has also recently aired a live session for Total Rock Radio, performed on the BBC Introducing Stage at TNFOM Blackburn, and has also been selected as 'Ones to Watch' by Planet Rock Radio. The Guardian - Editor’s Pick
“Your snarly singer-guitarist in the latest line up of this doughty girl-grunge trio. Shades of Courtney, Brody and L7”

Kerrang! Magazine
“Led by Princess Maha, this is a neat twist on grunge pop”

Q Magazine
"There's a slice of angst-offloading gutter rock that's a kissing cousin of Hole, but The Kut's scuzz-covered family tree also stretches further back to the garage rampages of The Stooges.”

Clash Magazine
“New single 'Mind Games' leads the way, and it finds the three-piece blazing a trail for others to follow. Glamorous rock 'n' roll with a punk edge”

Metro
“This trio of multi-talented girls with a ‘90s grunge alt-rock sound have been touring all over Europe”

Metal Hammer
"The Kut are like the bastard lovechild of Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson with awesome riffs and chaotic live shows"

Classic Rock Magazine
"Marks the precise point in the Venn diagram where L7 meets I Wanna Be Your Dog meets Courtney Love, which is equal parts terrifying and a cause for long and rowdy celebration. Punk's not dead, pass it on.”

Planet Rock Radio
"grungy sounds nod towards everyone from Hole to Nirvana to L7 and The Distillers, yet despite wearing their inescapable influences on their sleeves, crucially they have their own indelible, attitude-packed imprint."
