Ripple News - Introducing Musician Match

Now this is something we're really excited about.

For those of you who haven't found it yet, Musician Match is a new, free service, where you, as a musician, can create a profile, upload your music, interact with and meet other musician, form bands and work on virtual projects with musicians from across town and across the globe. There's also industry folks popping in and out to listen to your music, help promote your sounds, get you radio airplay, and, who knows what else. . . .

Perhaps the next Radiohead is lurking there, just waiting to be discovered.

Oh yeah, and did I mention that it's all free.

The brain child of a couple of musicians, with enough business skills to be able to pull it off right, Musician Match is a vast improvement over other musician social websites out there. The emphasis here is on you as a musician, hooking up with other musicians, and making music.

Check out the virtual projects going on there. It's pretty amazing. This is a great way for musicians to "audition," future band mates by collaborating on songs. One person loads up a drum track, someone else takes it adds a bassline, etc. . . and music is created. All songs are protected by a Creative Commons license of the originators choosing. We have no doubt that some pretty amazing musical collaborations will come from this.

You can personalize your profile with your history as a musician, upload songs into your mp3 player, even upload videos, all with the intent of letting the world know you're out there.

And for those of you already in a band, go ahead and make a band profile. You never know who you may meet for future collaborations, or when you may need a new bass player or drummer. This would be a great way to find virtual auditions for your band.

And did I mention that it's free?

We here at the Ripple are pretty excited about it, and have already made it know that any bands that come from the MM service will get a fast track towards getting a Ripple review and maybe some airplay on our radio show. Now if that isn't motivation for you, I don't know what is.

Check them out at www.musicianmatch.com. See if your band is there, just waiting for you to join.
